line extensions to complex treatment plants. Work on distribution systems
includes design and construction of lines, studies, computer modeling of
entire systems, and system mapping.
WasteWater THHinc staff has helped unsewered areas develop
entire collection and treatment systems including planning, cost estimates,
funding assistance, design and finally construction phase assistance.
Conventional collection
system designs are most common, but forced systems and Septic Tank Effluent
(STEP) technology can be used where it provides a better option for a
particularly community. Treatment systems also vary according to the
situation, with lagoons, mechanical biological treatment systems and
innovative wetlands or overland flow systems among the available choices to
